AUTUMN TEA-POEM

I think the wind witch is back today. Very windy here with a skiff of snow on the ground. It won't be staying but the wind is sure blowing so I think we all could use a warm cup of tea. Keep warm and enjoy you tea!

AUTUMN TEA

Poem

The cool air wraps up around us and reminds us of the time of year it is.

The smell of autumn and its freshness feels good actually. A relief from the summer heat of a few weeks ago.

The leaves start to turn and fall to the ground creating a crunchy ground as we walk.

Raking and making piles for the kids and dogs to leap through and even a kitty.

Pumpkins gathered up from the garden and used for display.

Warm soup to be made from the pumpkins and butternuts to warm us up.

But a nice thing to hold in your hand is some tea while you sit in the old chair outside and enjoy what warmth the sun has left.

Apple cinnamon or peach apricot lose tea simmering in a pot warms the soul on a beautiful crisp autumn day.

The spiced liquid we hold warming out hands goes through us and fills us with a warmth that makes us feel good and happy.

Enjoy some autumn tea and have a happy autumn!

THE WIND QUEEN

Today, in lieu of the windstorm we had  yesterday, we have The Wind Queen who was very angry here yesterday! Hope you enjoy!

THE WIND QUEEN

Flash fiction

She was angry today and she wouldn’t say why. Most said she was moody anyway and would lash out just for fun.

But the wind was so strong today that I don’t think the queen was lashing out for fun.

I think she was hurt and this was her way of expressing herself of her feelings.

She was not angry but who or what hurt her?

Questions would get constantly thrown into the wind she created getting torn into shreds.

So, there was a bit of anger there but still…

All we could do was wait it out until she settled down and her feeling were more rational.

The sun shone at least but her wind had a bitter bite to it.

Love can turn a warm heart cold. Maybe a love hurt her.

The wind had blown as hard as she could muster it until the day was coming to an end.

Maybe now she was starting to calm down. The sky was turning into many hues of oranges and reds as her wind started to die down but not completely.

Hopefully her feeling were being mended. The trees and grasses couldn’t take any more. Leaves of the trees were blown so far a way that it felt like they were taken to another part of the world.

Finally, the wind stopped and it was as if everything held its breath. Nothing moved.

The night quietly came and stayed wind free for the night.

There was only a light breeze in the night and when the early daylight hours started to emerge, a light breeze accompanied it.

Everything was fine until the sun came up and then the wind again started to blow.

I guess whoever had made her mad had not gave their apologies.

But at least her madness was not as angry.

There was hope.

Novella

Hello everyone! Today I have something a little different. This is the start of what I think will be a novella and new fantasy series that I would like to write. No title yet. So here is the beginning of it and when I do finish the novella, I will post it here in two part or three depending on how long it is. Enjoy!

I could see him holding the blade to her chest. I knew what was going to happen. My heart was dying along with hers. But my love had some fight left in her. She made a move that made me smile but he was quicker, sloppy but quicker. She fell to her knees and that brought a smile to his face. I stepped out from the trees and startled him. His silver blue eyes looked shocked but then fell away to a smile that was fit for a dying heart of the one you hate. “Bryony, come to see your love?"

I was unmoving and with a flash I flung an arrow at him. It nailed him in the shoulder and I flung another arrow at him this time aiming for the chest or head which ever way the fool jerked. It seemed he was faster than anticipated. He hissed and flew in the air and turned to silky white mist. I ran to Ash. She was still breathing. He hadn’t killed her but she was still dying. Something was out of place. I gently rolled her over. It became visible to me. Blood ran down a small spear that she had been hidden inside her vest. It seemed when she fell it pierced her heart – just enough. I recognized it- the invisible spear of Lug. She never told me about it. I shoved the spear all the way in.

MISTWOODS-SELINA

Hello and welcome. Today I have another short story in my Mistwood's world. I see these shorts as a way of introducing characters to myself in this world. Hope you enjoy!

MISTWOODS-SELINA

Selina was tiny and that was an advantage. She could hide herself and watch. It was becoming a favorite pastime with her. Selina would sneak off from her parents home and go to the edge of the woods where the humans lived. There was one human that had caught her eye and she was most fascinated by him. He was also handsome and looked very strong.
If her parents knew or even a certain someone else, they would be furious with her. So, she always took her basket with her to make them think she was out gathering wild herbs and flowers. So far it worked and no one questioned her or followed her. Selina knew how to cover her tracks and scent so that no one could follow her. Her father taught her that to keep her safe.

Selena watched him work away at his wood cutting. She so badly wanted to come closer to him but she didn’t know if he would be one of the friendly ones or not and since he had a very sharp Axe, she didn’t want to tempt fate with him.

Soon after awhile, she knew he would be heading back to the village. He picked up his Axe and threw it into his wagon. Then he stood still as if he could senses something. He looked around and sniffed.

Selina froze. Did he smell her? What human could smell a faerie? She didn’t know what to do. Her legs wouldn’t move for her.

She watched him walk around his wagon and she could see those dark brown eyes scanning all around him looking for something.

Finally he took a deep breath and got on his horse and off they went to down the old path back to his home.

Selena came out then and carefully went up to the edge of the old path and watched him disappear. Her heart was still thudding. She grabbed her basket and off she went home.

Before she even got there she picked up this strong scent. It stopped her short. And that is when she noticed her empty basket.Quickly she turned around and walked back to get her herbs. She couldn’t go back with an empty basket.

But the scent got stronger. She walked faster to get a way. Before she knew he was right beside her. His warm hand slid around her waist and his warm sweet breath was at her ear.

“Where do you think you are running off to? Why are you in such a big hurry?”

“I have herbs to gather and I don't need help.”

Terisa looked down at her empty basket. “You’ve been gone for a while. Why isn’t your basket full? What were you doing all this time?”

She stopped and pulled herself away from him and threw her shoulders back. “I don’t have to answer to you. I can as I please.”

Terisa laughed. “You do have a strong mind but I know you all too well. You also have a curious mind. You can get transfixed on something or someone?”

Her chest thumped. “What are you talking about?”

He grinned. “I followed you today.”

Her eyes went wide and she could feel her face heat. He laughed softly. “Don’t worry love, I wasn’t threatened by that human you were watching. Why he was so fascinating to you is beyond my thinking. Don’t you know to stay away from them? Especially one with a weapon.”

“He didn't see me.” Her heart was still beating wildly. Was it Terisa that he could sense? This human perhaps has some talents that were special? Some humans did.

“I don’t think you should come out here anymore anyway. Did you notice that he picked up something? I thought I was going to have to rescue you.”

It had been a couple of days since she went and one morning it so beautiful out that she decided to take her basket and go gather herbs and flowers.

When she came to the path that she took to watch the human, she stood there deciding on what to do. Remembering Terisa’s warning about the human, she went down another path. She was almost at her destination when a loud crash shook the forest. She startled and looked ahead to see what it was. Maybe a deer?

But when she got closer, it was a man, a human man and as soon as he rolled over on the ground, their eyes met. Selina froze on the spot.

After what felt like a long time, he spoke. ”Could you help me up? I fell off my horse.” He sounded a bit embarrassed.

She cautiously came forward. He didn’t look at her funny and didn’t seem to realize what she was. So she helped him up. The smell of magic was so strong from him that it almost knocked her to her feet.

“You okay miss. Didn’t mean to make you fall.” He smiled warmly at her.

She shook her head. ‘No, I’m fine.”

You fell off your horse? Something must have startled him perhaps.”

He looked from his horse to her. Her chest started to take a lively beat. She couldn't’ believe that she was standing right in front of him.

“Perhaps,” he finally said. You should be careful out here. There are dangers that have come to this forest. Maybe pick your herbs closer to home?”

Her eyes went wide and she wondered if he was the danger. She was about to run when a loud sound screeching noise shattered the silence in the forest.

He looked down at her. Hop on the horse with me and I will take you back. We have no time.”

Before she knew it she was on the horse and he was tight sitting tight up against her.

They took off like the wind.

Now they were at her home and she was really scared now as her father came out to see what was going on.

He leaped down and helped her down. “Your daughter was in the forest when I fell. She helped me up and then we were attacked. I got away quickly and got her back home.

As quickly as he came he got up on his horse and bid them all farewell.

Her father came up to her and stood be her side. He looked over at her finally and said, “You were lucky he was there to get you away.”

Selina was a bit confused. Did her father not know that this was a human? The ones that he constantly warned her about?”

“Do you know who he is father?”

As he was escorting her back to the house, he answered her question. “Yes, my dear. I know who he is. He is one of the most powerful mages in this realm.”
